Make exercise the perfect relief for you.

A successful exercise program begins with just a few simple steps.

You can start walking before you run.

Improve your physical condition progressively.

Also, try to do weight lifting exercises for all major muscle groups at least twice a week.

Do what you love—any form of exercise or movement can improve your fitness and lower your stress.

The most important thing is to choose an activity that you enjoy, for example, walking, climbing stairs, jogging, dancing, cycling, lifting weights, swimming or doing yoga, etc.

Remember that you don't need to join a gym to be active, go for a walk, try weight lifting exercises or even practice yoga with a video at home.

Seeking company can help too. Knowing that someone is waiting for you to show up at the gym or the park can be a powerful incentive.

Try making plans to meet friends for a walk or exercise.

Exercising with a friend, co-worker, or family member brings a new level of motivation and commitment to your workouts. And friends can make exercise more fun!

Try interval training. Even short bouts of physical activity offer benefits. For example, if you can't do a 30-minute walk, try doing a few 10-minute walks instead.

Being active during the day can have health benefits. Take a mid-morning or afternoon break to move and stretch, go for a walk, or do some squats or push-ups.

Interval training, which involves doing short (60 to 90 second) rounds of intense activity at near total effort, can be a safe, effective, and efficient way to get many of the benefits of longer duration exercise. The most important thing is that you incorporate regular physical activity into your lifestyle.

Whatever you do, don't think of exercise as just one more thing on your to-do list. Find an activity you enjoy, whether it's an active game of tennis, time to meditate, or a walk to the local park and back, and make it part of your regular routine. Any form of physical activity can help you relax and become an important part of your stress relief approach.
